Open Letter to Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi
Being in full majority, there could now be no excuse for not taking decisions in the interest of nations which you as in the opposition had been raising.
First of all, I would like to congratulate you for landmark victory by the Bhartiya Janata Party, under your patronage, in the history Indian politics since Independence of India. While every citizen has expectations from the new government for which they have given a mandate for change, I too have expectations from you both as Prime Minister and Narendra Modi. Before I emphasize on my certain points, which are part of BJP’s manifesto or not, I would request them to keep in mind while working on the original agenda of BJP and try to fulfill them on priority in the interest of nation.
The main issues are Sino-Pak relations, Tibet issue, Deportation of Bangladeshi illegal migrants, according minority status to Hindus in Punjab and J&K, reservation on financial conditions only, and compulsory singing of national song, preservation and promotion of Urdu language, Educating Muslim boys and girls, strengthening of cottage and small scale industries, Uniform Civil Code 370 of the Constitution.
Let me elaborate each point in this letter to share my views one by one…….
There is a need to have defense pact by the new government to put check on cross border terrorism in J&K.
Regarding Tibet issue, Tibet was never a part of China. It had an independent Government under the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan language was written like Indian languages and it was not a pictorial language like the Chinese. Moreover, all the religious books of Tibetans were in Sanskrit. China had forcefully occupied it in 1950 and Nehru had committed a blunder in agreeing to Chinese occupation of Tibet. It must be set free. India should immediately recognize the Tibetan Government in Exile and help Tibetans militarily to fight China. It is in our national interest to have Tibet as a buffer state between India and China.
Another major problem for India is deportation of Bangladeshi illegal migrants which is a great threat to the country. There are about two crore such illegal migrants in India and they are eating into our vital resources as well as upsetting our demography. So, they must be deported immediately.
The Hindus are in minority in the state of Punjab and J&K and should be accorded minority status in these states.
India has not been able to progress since the past we can say, 8 centuries and caste based reservations are perpetuating the caste system, when foreign invaders occupied it because of Hindus being divided on caste basis. It needs to be withdrawn immediately and reservations should be made only on the basis of financial condition of the individuals.
There is no harm in singing national song and it should be made compulsory for all to sing this song. We should not compromise with our national identity. So, you as Prime Minister must ensure the compulsory singing of the national song.
Urdu a widely spoken language in India is dying in certain parts of the country. Now Urdu is not a language of Muslim only and to for its preservation and promotion, BJP has already shown its commitment to the preservation of rich culture and heritage of the minorities including Muslims. In fact, it is the language of all Indians irrespective of their religion and has been developed by taking vocabulary from other languages like Persian, Turkish, Arabic, Punjabi, Braj Bhasha, Awadhi, etc. with a Hindi grammatical structure but written in Persian script. So, its survival would benefit not only Muslims but all lovers of Urdu language irrespective of their religion.
Presently, the Muslim girls’ education is suffering at present and most of the Muslim girls suffer from a lack of education. Muslims need to be given special incentives for getting their girls educated which would also help the Muslims to develop themselves and control their population as well as remove their poverty because once the girls are educated, then when they assume the role of motherhood, they would be aware of the benefits of having a small family which would be helpful in reducing the poverty also for it is due to large families that they are having that Muslims remain poor.
BJP must see to it that it fulfills its promises made to minorities in its manifesto so that the minorities do not feel alienated or threatened. BJP also has already expressed its intention to strengthen cottage and small scale industry which has mostly Muslim workers.
Apart from all this, it must formulate and enforce the Uniform Civil Code so that all citizens are treated as equal and particularly, the Muslim women do not suffer from gender discrimination. It must do everything in its power to abrogate article 370 of the Constitution so that J&K is treated at par with other states and brought into the mainstream of national life.
Dear, Narendra Modi, now you are in power with full majority and world’s eyes are staring at you for your every action and reaction. So, there should not be any excuse for not taking any step on these points, and on the points which you as in the opposition had been raising, in the interest of nation and its citizens for which they have high expectations from you.
I am not warning, rather forecasting, in case no actions are taken on these issues, the voter is now quite intelligent and understand as to how to turn the tables after every five years.
I hope, you would do everything not only to fulfill my expectations but in the interest of the nation and its citizens.
