The BJP stands exposed in the bypolls with the Modi-wave becoming ineffective. With the better performance of Congress in MP, Karnataka and in Bihar, it gives a red signal of the feel-good for the Modi –led NDA regime.

So far as Punjab is concerned, over the 50:50 results for Akali winning the seat from Talwandi Sabo and Congress from Patiala, AAP – which has lost its security deposit even after showing a grand victory in Parliament elections by winning 4 seats – has charged it as a hand-shake elections between Congress and Akalis.

In Bihar, Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar reunion after 20 years seems to have worked as secular alliance along with Congress by registering win in 6 assembly seats in bypolls. BJP, which had won six out of the 10 seats in 2010, suffered a setback as it bagged just four seats.

Since Modi magic looks to be a totally failure in these bypolls, the ‘political pundits’ now have to make calculations afresh for the final assembly elections scheduled next year in the state.

The messages given as a red signals to BJP are – First – Don’t forget togive practical shape to the promises made during the electioneering otherwise now continue to face results like this.

Second – Don’t do politics while sitting in air-conditions chambers as gone are the days of doing such politics. The political leaders have to come out of their chambers and remain in touch with the people of the constituency at the root-level.

Fourth – Don’t become a escapist on the issue of inflation, and
Fifth – Don’t play the game of appeasement after coming in power
These are 5 major messages hidden behind the failure of BJP in the bypolls.
How BJP takes it, is only to be seen now. In case the BJP don’t introspect and also don’t make its people-friendly policies, its future looks to be dark. In fact, it is a first jolt to BJP after coming of Amit Shah, as national president on his political cleverness. Amit Shah now has to reconstruct his political and social set-up.
The BJP should not forget that only the traditional voters bring the party in power and they too take adopt a revengeful attitude by joining the rival parties and the reason behind this are very simple – the policy of putting the things at rest after coming in power.
The glaring example is of extending the invitation to Nawas Sharif for oath ceremony for which BJP has shown its resentment. Despite extending a friendly hand, the results are before us of violations at the border.

It has given an opportunity to the opposition party for becoming powerful. Now, Lalu and Nitish will start their chapter from ABC against BJP. Similarly, the Congress too will try to overpower BJP with a new strategy.

The bypoll results are like a ‘danger bell’ for Narendera Modi and Amit Shah otherwise the party has to face the consequences in scheduled assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand. No doubt, Amit Shah has constituted 15-member central election committee which pick candidates for various elections, retaining most of the old faces, yet he has to think over a long-term strategy to maintain the image of the BJP at all levels- district, state, national and international.
