Politics is the game of grabbing the opportunity and Capt Amarinder Singh got it but Congress has to work as a team to win the slated State Assembly elections in 2017.
To bring back Congress to power in Punjab will not be an easy task and the only strategy required would be take everyone in the front row irrespective of bitter factionalism within the party which led to the major change.
No doubt, Capt brought back to life rather raised from the dead by defeating the BJP stalwart Arun Jaitely from Amritsar despite his reluctance to be in central politics and his desire to state politics.
2017 looks to be a tough track when Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) too is becoming active, when Punjab has given four seats of Lok Sabha in the last elections and Arvind Kejriwal, AAP Delhi Chief Minister has planned to keeping an eye on Punjab after Delhi.
Recently, Manpreet Singh Badal of People’s Party of Punjab has also given a statement that in the event of grand alliance in Punjab, his party would stand with the Opposition against the SAD-BJP alliance.
Seizing the opportunity is real game of politics and in the past two months, holding Sarbat Khalsa by the radical Sikh groups, leveling charges and counter charges by the political parties, followed by Sadhbhawana Rally by SAD, all this shows, everyone is after taking hold of the coming 2017 elections in Punjab.
On the other hand, the circumstances for Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) which has a sworn alliance are shaky and unstable when it has kept itself aside from the Sadhbhawana Rally by detaining Punjab BJP President and deputing Tarun Chugh to represent. BJP is still watching the situation about breaking the affairs to fight the coming elections independently.
Frankly speaking, ignoring Partap Singh Bajwa at this stage would not be advisable for Capt as he (Bajwa) too enjoys the support of number of Congress leaders and workers whereas he (Capt) has not to worry about Sunil Kumar Jakhar who is a seasoned politicians and born Congress leader.
More-over, last time, the Congress loss because of PPP divided the anti-Akali vote and this time, anti-Badal move is so strong and extensive, only the Congress and AAP can give a befitting defeat to SAD-BJP.
All this shows that Capt has to start his fresh innings very carefully right from ABC as Amarinder-Bajwa Congress.
