Patience is not simply the ability to wait; in fact, it is a conquering virtue or it is how we behave while we are waiting.  One must have seen many storms in his life where patience was required. It is an admitted fact that patience is bitter but its fruit is sweet.
Saint Francis has right opined – Have patience with all things, but first of all with yourself.  It is only you to maintain patience for the best results and betterment of others.
There was an event, a car ahead of me was moving like a turtle and not giving way in spite of my continuous honking. There was no important assignment or engagement but as is the habit on the roads in India to drive bumper to bumper and keeping a pressure on the horn plate at the centre of the steering.  But when I was at the brink of losing my patience when I noticed the small sticker on the car’s rear glass – “Physically challenged, please be patient”. I became little defensive of the car and the driver. I stopped blowing my horn, slow down my speed and wait for the easy overtake lay bye. But the question remained stuck in my mind – Why do we need stickers to be patient with the people? What would have happened, had I not been patient, if there was no sticker?
Anyhow, all this made me to think in a funny ways, what if people had pasted stickers on the back of the car to have sympathy from co-riders on the road – like ‘Lost my Job’, ‘Fighting Cancer’, ‘Divorcee’, ‘Lost a loved one’, ‘Financially tight’ and many more like this.
Frankly speaking, the two hardest tests on the road are the patience to wait for the right moment and the courage not to be disappointed with what we encounter. Everyone is fighting a battle in life without knowing to each other but the least we can do is to be patient and kind-hearted.
I recollect the incident when I was driving on the road, I saw the sticker on the back of the car in the Punjabi language – as Punjabi are known for their bold stands and broadmindedness also – Aa Oh Wadia Kalea – Come on, you quicker.  It was a message for the person driving behind this car, not to go in for horn and I shifted to the extreme right on the road, to give way to over taker. So you too don’t forget to give way to a quicker on the road that lacks patience.
Let me share with you that impatience is the root of all your problems and you cannot force life to give you answers all the time, you must let them unfold before you and wait until your mud settles and the water is clear.
The best formula is given by the older timers, when you are in an irritated, annoyed or gnashing your teeth, start counting one, two, three up to ten, to have changed in your mood.  Now I realized that patience is the best remedy for every trouble as it makes you mentally strong.
