Be a product of your decisions than….???

HARISH MONGA DIDO
I had never such a close bonding with the people after retirement due to certain reasons perhaps settled in the remote border town and limited resources to travel frequently in a car to pay courtesy calls.

But one thing I realized after joining the journalism that your work speaks no matter how educated, talented, rich or cool you belief, you are.  Your integrity is everything.

Everyone has individual social circle and I being associated with the various non-government social organizations got a niche among the senior officers because of, off and on meetings. It was a transition to a new season of life and the people, situations that no longer fits you or you may not fit to them, will fall away automatically.

One day, one of my friend with whom I have close acquaintance told me that happiness is found when you stop comparing yourself to other people. But we have differences on certain issue, I told him on his face that I may look calm but in my head I have killed you three times.

In another incident, when I did not see one of my friends for month’s together despite making number of calls, text messages, even video and voice calls, in this high-tech era, but suddenly seeing him in my office, the spontaneous words uttered by me were –  Out of sight, Out of mind. Is it a courtesy call?  For a moment, I observed that silence which is known as a great art of conversation now means, he is tired of fighting and explaining his feelings to me and there is nothing left to fight for.

Frankly speaking, if I have loved someone, I have loved from the core of my heart but if I don’t get a response, it starts disturbing me, one – something is wrong at my end or he or she is so busy to respond, second – is it the idiom which might have been formed after a long experience of old timer elders – “Out of sight, Out of mind” befitting well on me. Whatever may be reason, for overlooking with whom you have spent the few moments but it reminded me best quote, you may say it to console myself or a message to others, which is – Don’t feel bad if someone rejects you, people usually reject expensive things because they can’t afford them.  Those who don’t know the value of loyalty can never appreciate the cost of betrayal and this is why, I am not a product of my circumstances rather I am a product of my decisions.
