New Year Resolutions – only if promised for a happy future

New Year Resolutions – only if promised for a happy future

HARISH MONGA

The year 2020 had been challenging for everyone on this planet earth due to Corona pandemic which may carry on to the next Century in 2021.  At the end of every year, while we introspect at one time what we could not achieve and what we have but we also make new resolutions to be promised to be happy in the future.

I don’t have any such account but I feel the majority of them I promised could not be fulfilled. These resolutions are what you have to do when either you don’t to do it and you could not.

I am not all alone in this race, all human beings are weak to go by their New Year resolutions like not to spend too much on luxury items, drinking less, extend helping hand, listening much speaking less but the truth, writing for others to put them wiser about your ideology etc and it could be a long list. These are very simple resolutions but with high values, but definitely give an internal satisfaction.

Those who have attained success in their lives say, there must be a temptation, determination to achieve the goals but the problem is that we are the victim of ourselves and can’t resist our wishes.  Perhaps, someone has said – Don’t allow dying your wishes, they work as a supporting tool to live further with expectations of more happiness in the coming time.

Keep in mind that some research shows that telling others your goal makes you feel like you have already achieved it and sharing progress can also help you keep going.

Frankly speaking, what I feel is that commitment or blueprint for the New Year resolutions should only be if they are to be promised for which a strong will is required.  If we keep our moral values high with self-control, everyone could be happy without any specific resolutions for 2021.

Whatever may anyone’s resolution, in the New Year there is a need to create digital meet-ups with the possible detection of a new mutation strain after the Coronavirus.

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream or to reinvent your goals. Always keep in mind that the best is yet to come.

We should not forget that every day is the best in the year and tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365-page book. We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.
