Labour refers to any kind of work, be it physical or mental. It’s about acknowledging that every job holds importance. Labour is the backbone of any society but there is still a societal bias that devalues manual work in comparison to intellectual labour. All – street cleaner, doctor, teacher – play vital roles and if we recognize the dignity of labour, it promotes equality and discourages discrimination.  It also teaches us to respect all work and understand its value. One should not only equip with skills for specific jobs but understanding that all work is valuable. May 1 is celebrated as Labour Day.
