Feeling sometimes is a reality….

Feeling sometimes is a reality….

There are different views about the memory but Hay Boyle has said, it is more than a dustbin of time, stuffed with yesterday’s trash. Rather memory is a glorious grab bag of the past from which one can at leisure pluck bittersweet experiences of time gone by and relive them. Memory is also said a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.

WE REMEMBER MOMENTS NOT DAYS

But there are lots of people who mistake their imagination for their memory. At the same time, it is an admitted fact that we do not remember days; we remember moments. And I still hold good my views that remembering is keeping alive.

QUALITY OF RATE PERSONS

Guessing the caller from the voice on mobile is not everyone’s art. Remembering the number of phone numbers just by dialling once and names with one single meet is a quality with rare persons. But those who have – are really genius as of now, when hardly anyone remembers the names and phone numbers even of near ones.

It is said that sensory memory is the shortest-term element of memory. It is an ability to retain impressions of sensory information after the original stimuli have ended.

MY EXPERIENCE OF 8th TUNE

In my own case even, I had to ask almost four out of five, “Your good name please”. It is normally said that the musical tunes are based on seven melodious pitch – Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Da but I am of the view that 8th tune is the individual’s voice of the caller on the phone which is normally recognized by all and even they recollect their names. With the introduction of electronic hand gadgets, the memory of people has gone weak. People can’t remember even the contact number of nears and dears and in my case, I can’t dial the number of my better-half unless it is saved or noted down.

HOW VISUALLY IMPAIRED FEEL

I am associated with the visually impaired inmates in the home for the blind being looked after by me with other dedicated members. They are so sharp in their memory with a sound base. You see, we are recognized with our addressing to them instantly by name.

NEW NUMBER CALLER

A few days back, I recollect when I got a call from a new number telling me, Dear Dido, I am Oberoi, please save this new number of mind. He has called me after a span of more than five years, perhaps busy in house hold affairs. It was definitely a purpose to share the newcomer in his family when blessed with a grandson. In fact, he had shifted to a distant place with his son after retirement.

FRANKLY SPEAKING

Frankly speaking, while I was happy to hear him but tears of happiness rolling down from my eyes, I told him, Dear Oberoi, we have studied all together right from primary and lived for years while in service and even after retirement, I have extra sensory memory of the feeling of recognizing voice which doesn’t require saving your new number, even if you call all the time from a different number.
