Each of them was fully aware of the significant risks and the serious offence they were committing by attempting to enter the U.S. illegally. The Indian government should focus on creating ample opportunities for youth to discourage them from seeking employment abroad

Boosting industries, promoting startups, and investing in skill development programs could boost job opportunities. Strengthening sectors like IT, manufacturing, and renewable energy will create jobs, while favourable policies for entrepreneurship can encourage self-employment. Enhancing infrastructure, reducing bureaucratic hurdles, and ensuring fair wages will make India an attractive destination for work.

There is underutilization of research in India and fostering research, innovation, and international collaborations will help retain talent. A robust employment ecosystem will not only curb brain drain but also contribute to India’s economic growth and self-reliance.

The recent deportation of hundreds of Indian youths from the US on a special plane has further highlighted the urgency of creating domestic opportunities to retain talent.

Frankly speaking, rather than blaming Donald Trump, they should consider themselves fortunate that ICE agents didn’t forcibly send them across the border into Mexico or detain them in a U.S. prison for years before deportation.

One more thing, the amount spent by them to enter illegally in US via Maxico border, could earn handsome bank interest to live simple and comfortable life.
