Understand the meaning of Yes or No…

With the digitization and popularity of social media, both – long messages and response – are not appreciated. Everyone is so busy in this new digital world, that hardly anyone finds a time to go through the whole contents of the touch screen devices and fast-moving fingers could be seen with exciting nature of the holder.

The origin of short words is perhaps from the vowels are being omitted based on the theory of Pitman’s language of shorthand, which is based on writing words on, above and crossing the lines.
Similarly, the Yes or No are the most popularly used word to convey your consent or answering the questions. The answer to those questions that expect only ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ answer, these questions do not take the question words when what where etc. Sometimes, these are used to check information or ask for confirmation.

Are you coming with us? Yes.

In fact, to say Yes or No, we need not repeat the complete question. But sometimes, the more authentic confirmation is to say Yes, Iam. Similarly, Are you going to see a movie today? No, I am not.
So far as Yes is concerned, we should find a way to say yes to things like an invitation, to meet new friends, to learn something new. In fact, yes is how you get your first job and your next job and your spouse and even your kids. Even if it is a bit edgy, a bit out of your comfort zone, saying yes means that will do something new, meet someone new and make a difference.

In other words, yes lets you stand in a crowd, be the optimist, in other words, see the glass-filled portion rather than an empty part. Yes is what keeps you us all young.

Richard Branson said, “If someone offers you an amazing opportunity and you are not sure you can do it, say yes instead of no. They learn how to do it later.

Yes, has magic within it. So often we are afraid of life, we fear failure,
we anticipate the words, we don’t know what to expect. In doing so and often by saying ‘no’ to opportunities, we reject many of life’s bright chances.

No doubt, by saying yes, we often need to say no to others. We should not be a ‘yes person’ or feel pressured to do things we don’t want to do. It is about having the courage and conviction to do the things we know we really want to do. If you don’t say yes, you block the miracle whereas it leads to more doors and no is closing the door. Yes, attracts positivity. When we say yes, we do more, create more and live more.

I recollect an incident of my life when my saying ‘Yes’ to opt for a character of Postman in one of the theatre performances with an entry of only two minutes encouraged me to say ‘No’ to small roles on getting recognition in a small role.

Frankly speaking, life is long if nothing specific adverse happens in our life and sometimes it is short if we die young. Then terming life as short, we must say ‘why not’ instead of ‘why’. Most of the things we miss in life are because of saying No too early and Yes too late. Yes and No are very short words to say but we should think for some length of time before saying them. The art of leadership is in saying no, not saying yes. Learn to say ‘No’ to the good so you can say ‘Yes’ to best.
