Relief at  ATM, Shock Outside – a short story

Lately, news of frauds is everywhere—people’s life savings vanishing without a trace. Just today, Puru saw a news report about thousands, even lakhs of rupees mysteriously disappearing from bank accounts.

Panicked, Puru rushed to the bank on my cycle. Inserted my ATM card, entered the password, and checked my balance. Relief washed over me—my ₹8 lakhs were still there!

“Never watching the news again,” Puru muttered. “Too stressful!”

But as he stepped out of the bank feeling drained, he realized something even worse—my cycle was gone. My money was safe, but my ride home had vanished!

Frankly speaking, it’s not just money we need to safeguard these days, but peace of mind and common sense too.
